we are back from the grandparents

The kids and I had a great time in Springfield, MO visiting with the grandparents. We left Tuesday and returned Saturday. We swam, played, hung out, went to bass pro and Hemingways and went to the fair.

The fair was going on all week. We did that on one of the HOT afternoons. The kids only rode a couple of rides. The tickets were so crazy in price. Joe couldn't even ride most of them by himself- even in the kiddo part. The kids were to be 36 inches (which he is exactly) to be able to ride with an adult. 42 inches by themselves. Max is 42 3/4 inches. But they had fun none-the-less.

We got to hang out with some cousins and just play. We went swimming several times. The kids all really love the water now. Max made a birdhouse with one of his grandpa's. Well, not built from scratch but made a perch, primed it and painted it. He enjoyed that. One set of grandparents has 2 of the motorized Jeeps. I'm so glad they are just a grandparent thing and we don't have any. The kids LOVE them but like I said, I'm glad we don't have them!

It was so hot most of the time we were there. It was hot here too. Still is HOT! It was nice to go hang out before school starts though.

School starts in about 1 1/2 weeks....
