October 31 - pictures for Down syndrome awareness month
Max feeding his newest cousin. He loves babies.
I was planning on posting something Halloweeny -- but this will have to do! I didn't get pictures of him and his pumpkin so I will have to do that still.
Hope everyone enjoyed looking at a months worth of pictures of my sweetie pie Max. Thank goodness for scheduled posts too- otherwise I would have never made it!
Happy Halloween everyone!!

behind...
I am so behind reading others blogs. I think with so many people doing the "31 for 21" it has finally caught up to me. I will get to them soon!

Max likes our cat. I can't say the same is true for Tinkerball liking Max but she tolerates him as much as possible.
Max loving on Tinkerball....The last one Max looks like a cat! I think he had cat fur on his face or mouth.

About a week and a half ago we had our Buddy Walk. Kansas City's buddy walk was the LARGEST in the world this year!! Over 7000 people showed up, and over $450,000 was raised. They are still taking donation thru the end of the year.
Here is a picture of our star: MAX!
Max with the Chiefs football player, Rudy Niswanger
Here is Max after the walk getting a medal from Chiefs football player, Brian Waters
It was a cool morning but it warmed up rather nicely by the time the walk started at 12:45.

October 22 - pictures for Down syndrome awareness month
A sad picture of Max after one of his many surgeries. He never had major surgery but has had several sets of ear tubes placed. He also had tonsils out recently. This picture is from when he had new tubes put in, his tear ducts probed (that helped SOOOO much), and his adenoids out. He had blood coming from his ears, eyes and nose! He really acted pretty much normal though.

October 21 - pictures for Down syndrome awareness month
Max is just barely 3 years old in this picture. He went through a stage of lining up his cars all the time. They generally had to be facing the same way and touching! If you messed with them, he let you know he wasn't happy about that!

This is where I found Max one morning. I guess he was coming up to our room during the night but fell asleep on the stairs instead!
He can fall asleep in strange places sometimes.

Max and Sam
back in the innocent age....
And the not so innocent age....
Yes, that is the bedroom wall they decorated. I made them both scrub it for a while. I scrubbed it, I used the Magic easer, but nothing was getting that off! It took 8 coats of paint to cover that lovely artwork up. And that was not all of it. They did every wall, and part of a mattress as well. Oh and themselves!

A few messy pictures...
Max eating spaghetti. Luckily he isn't this messy with it anymore!
Max after eating OREO's. Glad I got this picture because he won't touch them anymore! He is a very picky eater.
Max eating chocolate with one hand and holding the TV remote with the other. He is still messy with chocolate but not this bad. He still will eat chocolate but only certain kinds- Hersey bars, kisses and eggs. I think that is the only chocolate he will eat.

Silly Max!! This is when Max insisted on wearing a towel on his head during lunch one day. He was 2 or 3 years old. I took it off and he would put it right back on. He was stubborn way back then too!

my kids must really like clean sheets!!
I have done bedding every day this week so far. Max and Sam still wear diapers at bedtime. Max will either wake up dry or completely flooded! Joe usually wakes up dry. So Sunday I washed bedding- sheets and waterproof mattress pad. Monday I wash the same bedding again plus a comforter! Tuesday I wash 2 sets of bedding- sheets, and 2 waterproof mattress pads. Today I am washing yet another set of bedding. My kids must really like clean sheets EVERY single night.

Here are a few of my favorite shots of Max.
He loves dandelions. All my kids do. Even Ike goes and picks them.

October 14 - pictures for Down syndrome awareness month
A recent picture of Max. He used a Binky as a baby. He loved it! Once he started pre-k we were pretty much done with the binky (for the most part). It seemed to be replaced with his finger however! He still sucks it to go to sleep. He also does this at other times but basically when he is tired or bored. I also just noticed his pinky. He has a pinky thing. He likes to play with other peoples pinky when going to sleep or just snuggling. I guess he likes his own as well!

Generally Max is a pretty happy boy. This picture makes me laugh though. We were at a fire station thing and we were watching a car being caught on fire and the firemen hosing the fire down. Doesn't he look so thrilled?!

October 7-pictures for Down syndrome awareness month
Max after his tonsillectomy and new ear tubes. His oxygen dropped so much during sleep they had me stick the mask by his face every time he dosed off.
He is doing great from it by the way. The real test will be this winter to see if he still gets as sick as last winter.
Fingers crossed!

October 6-pictures for Down syndrome awareness month
We used to go to Gymboree every week. You make a name tag for you and your child while there. On Valentines day when Max was a little over 3 1/2 years old he made his own tag. I never practiced name writing with him, neither had school. He just saw it SO much, he knew what to do I guess. So here is the very first time Max ever wrote his name...
Here is a picture of him from that same day. Isn't he sweet. Notice the Down syndrome awareness pin he had to try on?!

October 4-pictures for Down syndrome awareness month
I love this picture of Max. He is so cute and innocent looking. He is about 26 months old. I just got a new camera and was trying it out. It was right before Sam was born. Him and Sam are exactly 26 months apart (so are Joe and Ike!)
His hair was so blond.

awards and such
LONG ago I was given some blog awards. I never posted them- Sorry!
But just so they get noticed- I will list the people who gave them to me....
Laura over at The Muncks Quiver
She has 9 kiddos! Yes, 9. 3 girls and 6 boys. She also home schools her kids and they own their own business. She is one busy lady but she still finds time to blog!
Some more awards were from Debbie over at Three Weddings
She lives very close to me but yet, I don't think we have ever met. I am sure we will at some point! We do go to the same Buddy Walk and all! She has 3 cute girls.
Another award came from Ecki over at Opposite Kids
She has 2 kids-both girls. She finds time to blog lots of interesting stuff and has really started to blog more and more here lately. She sounds very busy just keeping up with her 2 girls!
So although it is WAY over due- Thanks ladies for thinking of me!

October 2-pictures for Down syndrome awareness month
I love this picture of Max. He is 15 months old here. He is playing with his "monkey toes" which is a characteristic of Down syndrome (well, the big gap anyway- not really called monkey toes!) Isn't he the cutest!?!!
This is a picture of Max way back when. (another way of saying- not sure when and I am not going to look!)
